Regional Workshops

Fiscal Year 2027

Cohort Training on Macroeconomic Analysis and Management (May 4 – 15, 2026). The fourth leg of the CCAMTAC-JVI Cohort Training on Macroeconomic Analysis and Management was successfully delivered in Vienna, bringing together 30 economists from seven CCAM countries. Building on the first phase held in Almaty and a series of online learning modules, the course deepened participants’ analytical and forecasting skills through lectures, hands-on workshops, policy debates, and a final scenario-based forecasting exercise. Participants explored key topics in macroeconomic stabilization, monetary and fiscal policy, external sector analysis, and forecasting using a semi-structural macroeconomic model calibrated for Türkiye. Participants highlighted the practical orientation of the course, the strong integration of theory and real-world policy applications, and the value of the forecasting and scenario-building exercises. The program also fostered peer learning and professional networks across the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia, with all participants successfully completing both phases of the cohort training.

Regional Workshop on Risk-Based Supervision (RBS) (May 11–15, 2026). Organized as the fourth installment of this flagship CCAMTAC initiative, the workshop strengthened supervisors’ understanding of core RBS principles while addressing practical implementation challenges and emerging risks shaping supervisory frameworks. Through a combination of expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and peer exchanges, the workshop emphasized forward-looking and risk-sensitive supervisory approaches, supporting participants in refining methodologies, sharing best practices, and enhancing institutional capacity to respond to evolving financial sector risks. The workshop used case studies and role play with strong participant engagement and was conducted in a highly interactive manner. Building on this success, CCAMTAC plans to continue offering the workshop annually, further enhancing its content through interactive elements and expanded focus on emerging topics such as cyber and climate-related risks, promoting continued progress toward resilient and effective supervisory systems in the region.
