Alisher Tolepbergen

Macroeconomic Frameworks Advisor 


Alisher Tolepbergen joined CCAMTAC in August 2026 as Macroeconomic Frameworks Advisor. Previously, he was chief analyst in the Monetary Policy Department of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. He specializes in macroeconomic modeling, forecasting, and monetary policy analysis, with a particular focus on dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models and policy-oriented macroeconomic frameworks. He led the development of a small open economy DSGE model for Kazakhstan and contributed to the National Bank's forecasting and policy analysis. Prior to joining the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Mr. Tolepbergen worked at the Asian Development Bank, where he provided capacity development on seasonal adjustment, and at Nazarbayev University's NAC Analytica, where he conducted macroeconomic research and developed macroeconometric and DSGE models for policy analysis. He has delivered training on macroeconomic modeling and forecasting for government officials through the National Bank of Kazakhstan, CCAMTAC, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. Mr. Tolepbergen holds a master's degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of York.
